Pricing
What Things Cost, And What Moves The Number
Most web developers will not tell you how they price their work. I would rather show you, because much of the reason quotes feel arbitrary is that nobody explains what they are made of. This page covers the three packages, what drives the cost up or down, and every add-on I offer.
The short version
Page count is rarely what makes a site expensive; complexity is. A ten page brochure site is cheaper to build than a three page site that has to communicate with your booking system. As you read the packages below, consider what the site has to do rather than how large it is.
How I Actually Price A Build
Only four things take real time. Everything else is detail.
Structure
How many distinct page types exist. Fifteen pages built from three templates is a small job; five pages that each behave differently is a larger one.
Logic
Anything the site has to process. Payments, logins, bookings, filters, dashboards, and anything drawing on a database or another company’s system.
Design
Whether we are adapting an established direction, or designing every screen from scratch.
Content
Whether the words and images already exist. People underestimate this one most, and it usually determines whether a project finishes on schedule.
Silver
From US$400
One page that tells someone who you are and how to reach you.
Who It Is Right For
You are a trade, a service business, a small operation, or you are testing an idea. Most of your work arrives through word of mouth or social media, and what you need is a proper address on the internet that looks credible when somebody checks you out. At present that check probably lands on a social media page you last updated years ago.
What You Get
- A single page built to scroll, with clear sections covering what you do, who you are, and how to reach you.
- Correct behaviour on phone, tablet and desktop. Most of your visitors will be using a phone.
- A contact form that reaches your inbox without sending visitors out to a separate mail application.
- Set up so that Google and AI assistants can read you correctly from the first day.
- Usually one to two weeks, and fourteen days of support after it goes live.
What Pushes It Higher
A booking or payment step on the page. Photography or written copy that needs producing. More than roughly six sections, at which point a second page is usually the better answer in any case.
When It Is The Wrong Choice
If you already know you will want a blog, a shop, or separate pages for each service within a few months, start at Gold. Rebuilding a one page site into a full one later costs more than building the full one now, and I would rather say so than take the smaller job twice.
Gold
From US$1,100
A full site you can be found on, and update yourself.
Who It Is Right For
You have more than one thing to say: separate services, a story worth telling, and material you want to publish over time. You want to be found by people who have never heard of you, and you would rather not call me every time a price changes.
What You Get
- Up to ten pages, designed for your business rather than dropped into a template.
- An editor you can use confidently, so you can change your own text and images.
- Structured data and a sitemap, so Google, Bing and the AI assistants can quote you accurately.
- Speed and Core Web Vitals tuned properly, which now forms part of how you are ranked rather than being an optional extra.
- A blog or news section if you want one.
- Usually three to four weeks, and thirty days of support after launch.
What Pushes It Higher
Multiple languages. A large existing site that must be migrated with its links intact. Extensive custom design work on individual pages. Anything that has to connect to software you already run.
The Honest Note
This is the package most people should be buying, and also the one most likely to be oversold elsewhere. If someone quotes you four figures and cannot explain what distinguishes it beyond the page count, ask them what happens when a customer asks ChatGPT about your industry. Most cannot answer that.
Platinum
From US$2,200
A store, a tool, or anything with real logic behind it.
Who It Is Right For
The site is not a brochure; it is part of how the business runs. You are selling online, taking bookings, managing accounts, or you need something that does not exist off the shelf.
What You Get
- Everything in Gold.
- An online store, or a custom web application built around how you actually work.
- Database and API work, including connecting to systems you already use.
- Accounts, dashboards and administrative tools where the project requires them.
- A timeline set per project, and sixty days of support after launch.
What Pushes It Higher
The number of systems it has to connect to, more than anything else. One payment provider is routine. A payment provider, an inventory system, a courier’s tracking and an accounting tool together make four separate integrations, and each is a small project with its own complications.
How I Handle These
Projects at this level are scoped before they are quoted. We establish exactly what the site has to do first, in writing, because any figure given before that is one neither of us should rely on.
Add-Ons
Quoted alongside your project, because what each one involves depends on what you already have in place.
I am still setting standard rates for several of these, and I would rather quote you honestly than publish a figure I have to revise later.
Hosting And Domain
Where the site lives, and what people type to reach it. Set up on hosting I use myself, in your name and on your card, so the account belongs to you. Too many people discover late that a previous developer owns their domain.
Care Plan
A monthly arrangement covering updates, backups, security monitoring and small text or image changes. Worth having if you would rather not think about the site at all. Not worth it if the site is simple and you are comfortable in the editor, and I will tell you so.
Findability Setup
Making your site readable by Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Perplexity and the rest: schema, entity markup, discovery files, and content shaped so an AI answer can quote it accurately. Basic setup is included in every package. This is the deeper pass.
Words And Content
Writing your pages, or rewriting what you already have. The most common reason a project stalls is that the content never arrives. If writing is not something you enjoy, this add-on will move the whole build along faster.
Logo And Brand Basics
A logo, a colour set, and typefaces that hold together across the site and anywhere else you use them. If you already have a logo you are happy with, we keep it.
Store Setup
Products loaded, payments connected, shipping and tax configured, and training so you can run it yourself. Included in Platinum builds, and available as an addition to Gold.
Integrations
Connecting the site to another system: payments, bookings, inventory, email tools or accounting. Quoted per connection, because a well documented service takes an afternoon and a poorly documented one takes a week.
Handover And Training
A recorded walkthrough of your own site, so that you and anyone you hire later can run it without me. Brief, and included with Gold and Platinum.
Speed And Health Work
For sites I did not build. Measuring what is genuinely slow rather than guessing, then correcting it. Usually the most cost effective improvement available to a site that already exists.
Rescue And Rebuild
An existing site that is broken, abandoned, or built on software that is no longer maintained. I review it first and tell you whether repairing or rebuilding represents the better spend. It is often rebuilding, and I explain my reasoning before you commit either way.
Why I Do Not Sell You SEO
Search has stopped being a list of links, yet most people are still buying for the previous version of it.
What Replaced It
Ranking on page one matters far less if the answer sits above you and nobody scrolls. The new objective is to be the source the AI quotes when it answers. When somebody asks ChatGPT for a caterer in Port of Spain, a name is given.
That comes down to unglamorous things: a structure machines can parse; answers written plainly and placed near the top of a section rather than buried; schema stating who you are, where you are and what you do, in a format built for machines; and being described consistently everywhere you appear.
Where I Disagree With The Hype
SEO is not dead, and anyone telling you otherwise is usually selling a replacement. What died were the tactics: keyword stuffing, buying links, and producing thin pages to catch long tail searches.
The foundations beneath them matter more now rather than less, because clean structure, fast pages and genuine authority are precisely the signals an AI uses when deciding whether to trust you enough to quote you. SEO was absorbed rather than replaced. The label is outdated; the work is not. I build every site this way as standard rather than selling it back as a monthly service.
What Happens Next
Tell me what you are trying to build and roughly what you have to spend.
I will tell you which package fits, what I would leave out, and what it would cost. If a smaller job than the one you asked about would achieve the same result, I will say so.
